Waggy West - Volunteer Transport!

Since it's inception in March 2015, Waggy West has been growing! This has been in HUGE part due to our expanding pool of dedicated fosters in LA, and because of wonderful volunteers who have chaperoned dogs in cabin during their flights back to NYC! We asked one of our most recent volunteers, Chloe, to describe what flying with little cutie Clyde (a 3 month old Chihuahua puppy) at her feet was like. "It was such a lovely experience, an incredibly smooth process, from when we met Holly (LA foster) to drop Clyde off, checking him in, through security, the flight, and meeting Katie his (NYC) foster, it couldn't have gone smoother! We were so surprised how easy the process was and would do it a

Sunny! Adoptable Waggy of the Week!

Sunny is an adorable 8 year old pure bred Chihuahua who was rescued from a Texas puppy mill in April and transported to NYC for rehabilitation and adoption! This sweet, shy girl doesn't like the camera but she really shines on video! From Sunny's foster mom: "Sunny really wants affection, and seems to really like being pet and held, but she's still too shy to seek it out. She loves toys and playing tug and loves (LOVES) other dogs. It would be ideal for her to go to a home with another dog, she is much more outgoing and relaxed with them around. Cute things: She comes into the bedroom in morning and will lick my feet to get me up and then will bounce around all over for her breakfast. She ge

BENJIE & JACK! Waggy Grads of the Week.

We would like to share the happy tale of two Waggy alums Benjie (black Pomeranian mix, adopted 2006) and Jack (red dachshund mix, adopted 2014), now living the cushy life as pampered Brooklynites! From their mom: "Benjie came to us in February 2006, a matted, thin and fearful little thing. It took a long time for him to trust anyone and took a community for him to come around. He loves to line up his stuffed toys in an orderly fashion after playing with them, and dress up in sharp doggie parkas and clothes. He was also the patient little boy who stayed up on late nights while his two mommies went through punishing doctorate school, and poses like a supermodel for photo shoots - he loves bein

BOB! Waggy Grad of the Week

Bob was adopted from us A DECADE ago! His mom brought him along to see us at the Best Friend's adoption event this March! His mom writes: "I am so glad that I could meet you finally and you saw my BOB. Although Bob was little nervous at the time, he is a happy dog all the time :-) Thank you for giving me the chance to have Bob. He is a part of my body now..." We are so happy to have helped make this ten year love story happen! We are always thrilled to hear how our Waggytail Graduates are doing in ther new homes. We'd love to hear from you if you have adopted from us in the past. Please send us your Waggy Graduate story and cute pictures of your furry family member to waggymedia@gmail.com! T

May Adoption Round Up!

May was a great month for the Waggytail Team! 16 of our cuties found their forever homes! That includes 4 cats; Timmy, Frida, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 12 dogs! We are thrilled that another three of our Texas puppy mill rescue dogs have found their families, including Midnight, Petey and Whitely! And one of our Waggy West rescues, Enchilda, hopped right off the plane from LA and into the arms of her forever family! Also adopted this month were Coco, Blondie, Pepe, BB, Roger, Teresa and Peanut! We are also happy to report that one of our rescues that we had been having a hard time placing in the city, Taz, was adopted into a loving family in the suburbs through a partner organization! As alw

MAISIE! Waggy Grad of the Week

"Maisie is the love of my life. She's always so happy and rambunctious. She loves to meet new people, especially those of the canine variety. Her favorite thing to do when off leash in the park is to get other dogs to chase her as she has developed some serious running skills and she is hard to catch. She regularly checks to see that I am right there though, and never goes too far from me. She can stand her ground against much bigger dogs in games of 'tug' and wrestling. She's her Mama's girl. And you should hear her sing!... ... I can safely say that adopting Maisie has been the best decision of my life, to date. She brings me so much joy. " Looks like Maisie and her Mama are the perfect ma
