QUESO! Adoptable Waggy of the Week!

Queso is a 1 year old, ~4lb Chihuahua boy who is looking for a forever home! This tiny little package packs a lot of energy and love! Queso loves running, jumping and playing with his toys, but he also loves burrowing under blankets and snuggling! Queso walks well on the leash and is housebroken. He goes and stands by the door to let you know he needs to go outside! Queso is nervous around strangers and, like many small dogs, may snap if he is feeling threatened. We think with proper socialization this young little guy will settle but right now we think he should go to a home without children. He gets on fine with other dogs! If you would like to meet Queso, please fill out an adoption appli

SHELLY! Adoptable Waggy of the Week!

Shelly is a 4 year old, ~9lb purebred Chihuahua. The beautiful little girl was rescued from a puppy mill in Texas and has been making huge strides forward in foster care here in New York! Shelly is still shy but is learning to trust people, and she responds very positively when she has another role-model dog around! Shelly loves the company of other pups (here she is wth recently adopted Rose at the recent Adoptapalooza event in prospect park!) and we would love for her to be adopted into a family that already has a dog she can be besties with! If you would like to find out more about Shelly take a look at her adoptapet profile here! If you would like to meet Shelly and find out if she is yo

So how did she make the trip to NYC where she was so quickly adopted? With an amazing volunteer chaperone, Mr Dave Hill! We asked Dave what it was like to bring a Waggy West pup on a flight with him, and this is what he had to say! "It was fun and easy transporting Chloe. She was brought right to arrivals at LAX and then picked up at my doo

July Adoption Round Up!

Getting photographs of our recently adopted pups from their new families is just one of the perks of running the Waggytail blog, all those happy smiling faces! This July was no exception, with 14 of our adoptables graduating to being Waggy Alumni! It has been an excellent month for our Waggy West dogs, with SEVEN cuties rescued from high kill shelters in LA and finding freedom and love with families in LA and NYC! Jesse and Natalie (now Olive) stole the hearts of folks on the West coast and were adopted in California! Jesse's siblings Holly and Andy (now Oliver!) were flown to NYC with Piper (adopted last month!) and her sister Heidi! All three came on a Wings of Rescue flight, arriving safe
