Sunny is an adorable 8 year old pure bred Chihuahua who was rescued from a Texas puppy mill in April and transported to NYC for rehabilitation and adoption! This sweet, shy girl doesn't like the camera but she really shines on video!
From Sunny's foster mom:
"Sunny really wants affection, and seems to really like being pet and held, but she's still too shy to seek it out. She loves toys and playing tug and loves (LOVES) other dogs. It would be ideal for her to go to a home with another dog, she is much more outgoing and relaxed with them around.
Cute things: She comes into the bedroom in morning and will lick my feet to get me up and then will bounce around all over for her breakfast. She gets soooo excited for treats and food. She's still painfully shy, however, I can pick her up and put her in my lap and she will stay there and be pretty relaxed. She will also lay down next to me on the couch or on the bed. In general she is super easy going and relaxed about baths, nail trims, is really quiet and rarely barks.
Sunny is one of a kind (really I know that sounds cheezy) but seeing her warm up to us a little more everyday is so rewarding. I think whoever adopts her will get a huge payoff in affection eventually. She already follows me around and brings toys over for playtime. I think she will make a really devoted dog (really she is 100% chihuahua like that). Unfortunately she is still not quite there with the housetraining, but progress is being made. We haven't take her out for walks yet (our neighborhood is so busy with people I'm worried she will freak) but I think she will really enjoy walks since she is so curious and energetic."
